Len Humphreys OAM
Founder of Humphreys Dance Studio in 1967. Len Humphreys & Pam Humphreys-Martin competed for 24 years winning all Western Australian titles plus Australasian and South Pacific titles in Exhibition dancing. In 1977 they undertook a period of full time study in England. Len was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia in the Queens birthday honours list of 2003 for services to dance and to the community. Life Member of Dance Masters International Association. Len has proven to be one of Australia's most outstanding Dancesport coaches having trained multiple champions at all levels including Juvenile, Junior, Youth, Amateur and Professional over many years. Previously an Examiner with DMIA, Len now also trains many students for the theory section of Accreditation exams. Considered to be one of Australia's most experienced Adjudicators having judged all major National Championships over many years. Amongst his International Adjudicating appointments Len was appointed to judge the World Professional Ballroom Championship in Germany. |
Glen Tierney
· Competitor Credentials · Coaching Credentials · Adjudicating Credentials + Lectures, Congress, Dance Camps, etc Glen Tierney has been described as one of the finest Ballroom dancers Australia has ever produced. Glen's history as an international dance star includes being twice British (closed) and twice West European Amateur Ballroom Champion and Undefeated Australian, South Pacific and Australasian Professional Ballroom Champion. Glen, who is a 3 times winner at Blackpool, is the recipient of an award from the Australian Dancing Board for Outstanding International Achievement and has also been named "Australian Professional Competitor Of The Year". Glen is the only Australian in history to have won the British Open Modern Sequence Championships at the famous Wintergardens Ballroom at Blackpool in England. Following on from Glen's retirement from the competitive world, he continued his success into the world of coaching and teaching. Glen has trained State, National and International Ballroom champions again and again over the past 20 years and, as recognition for his achievements, was named "Australian Coach Of The Year". Glen is accredited with Dancesport Australia as a Level 3 Coach and Adjudicator (Dancesport Australia's highest level). He is a multiple World Championship Adjudicator having judged both Amateur and Professional World Championships in Ballroom, Latin American and Ten Dance including the World Professional Ballroom Championships at the home of dancing, Blackpool, England. Glen regularly teaches and adjudicates in Asia and has conducted Dance Camps, lectured at Congress and trained National Squad members in many countries throughout Asia including China, Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, Hong Kong and Indonesia. Glen is also a regular Adjudicator at local and National Championships within Australia. In addition to Glen's competitive coaching he is also a very accomplished social and medalist teacher. Glen is a very complete Professional who also makes a contribution to the administrative side of Dancesport by sitting on the International Affairs Commission within DanceSport Australia. |
Debbie-Anne Humphreys
Turned Professional at the age of 16. Australian Professional Rising Star Champion. Debbie-Anne and Glens commitment to the world of dance has been at the highest level and prior to retiring from performing to raise their family, Debbie-Anne traveled with Glen to demonstrate and lecture extensively throughout Australia and Asia. Debbie-Anne's reputation as one of Australia's leading lady teachers is evident when one sees the champions of today who started in the children's class with Debbie-Anne over the years. Her infectious personality together with her amazing dance knowledge makes her a real favourite with children and adults alike. |
Pamela Humphreys-Martin OAM
Founder of Humphreys Dance Studio in 1967. Pamela & Len competed for 24 years winning all Western Australian titles plus Australasian and South Pacific titles in Exhibition dancing. In 1977 they undertook a period of full time study in England. Pamela was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia in the Queens birthday honours list of 2003 for services to dance and to the community. Pamela, whilst spending less time in the studio these days, co-ordinates the very successful Schools Program. This program, now in over 100 schools around W.A has been operating for the past 40 years and was one of the main reasons for Pamela and Len receiving the Order Of Australia Medal. |
Craig Denham
Craig has been a National and International Dancesport Star through all age categories since beginning his dancing career at Humphreys at the age of 7.
He is qualified and accredited with Dancesport Australia and is an outstanding teacher for all levels in Ballroom, Latin American and New Vogue. Craig is always a hit in teaching the kids classes and is also terrific at Salsa.

Todd Annetts
Todd was first introduced to dancing when Humphreys introduced their school dance program to Lesmurdie High School back in the early 1980's, and is still with us to this day. Todd studied for his degrees over several years. It has been said that with his knowledge and experience he is one of the most complete teachers of Adult and Children Social and Medal level dancers in Australia. Todd is a true Professional and is most at home teaching large classes and medal exam candidates. He can also be counted on to help coach graded competitors when necessary. |
Jacky Shue
Jacky began her dance career as a salsa dancer and has since moved into the world of social Latin & Ballroom with ease. Jacky is a valued member of our studio family and can been seen both teaching and assisting in our social and medal group classes. Admin support, promotions and customer service are also among her responsibilities and we invite you to send Jacky an email any time if you have any queries about Humphreys. Jacky also arranges Corporate Functions and Private Social Dance Evenings at Humphreys and can often be seen hosting our regular social club groups for a fun night of dance and laughter. She is a very relaxed and easy going social dance teacher who is available for social beginner, Salsa and bridal private lessons. |
Steven Greenwood
2 x Australian Latin Champion 6 x West Australian Latin Champion Steven is qualified with DanceSport Australia & available for private lessons at Humphreys. Steven specializes in Latin American technique working with DanceSport students. Steven is also available for private social or bridal dance lessons by request. |
Callum Hawes
Callum started dancing as part of the scholarship program through the Humphreys Dance Studio children's classes. Since then, he extended his knowledge of dancing by completing his level 1 coaching accreditation in the Ballroom style and now teaches regularly at the studio, coaching social and competitive students. In addition, Callum has competed at a state and national level, consistently making the finals in his level, and placing inside the top 48 couples in Australia for the Latin American and Ballroom styles. He now predominantly competes with his students in the Coach and Amateur Student events in local competitions. Callum is also a qualified primary and secondary school teacher, and currently teaches as a dance specialist teacher in a northern suburbs primary school. |
