What We Teach
The Pamela Humphreys Dance Program is a curriculum based program based on over 40 years of hands-on experience and research into the natural body movements and capabilities of children from pre-primary through to year 12 students.
At each stage in their development, children's abilities and needs change therefore we have developed age-appropriate teaching methods and dances based on the natural progression of the body's movements, posture and mechanics. Every dance is choreographed with the science of body movement in mind.
All our dances are age-appropriate starting with fun and simple choreography for the younger children through to more popular ballroom, latin, salsa and hip dances for the older students. We aim to create a fun, positive learning environment for all our students which compliments your existing curriculum framework.
The Pamela Humphreys Dance Program very often compliments other dance programs as our teaching is not based on jazz dancing. While other dance program teach steps and choreography based on Jazz Dance, our program has been developed to start younger children off with simple and fun non-partner dances but gradually working towards the more popular social dances of Ballroom and Latin including some Hip Hop, Disco, Latin Line Dances and much more. Once a student experiences the benefit of learning these timeless dances, the skills will stay with them for life.
Our extensive syllabus includes both Solo and Partner Dancing and can be adjusted to suit your requirements. For example, we can choreograph routines for a performance or perhaps cover some popular dances for an event such as a school ball or function.
Many Schools choose the benefits of the Pamela Humphreys Dance Program to compliment other dance programs or they may alternate from one program to the other during the year.
We would love the opportunity to discuss all our teaching methods, dances and experience with you in person, so please call Debbie-Anne Humphreys on 0401 935 194 any time or send an email for more information.
