What is a Medal Course?

The difference between a Medal Course and a Social Dance Class is the focus on correct technique. A Social Dance Class is always a great idea to get you out on the dancefloor having fun but if you wish to set yourself a goal with your dancing, work on correct technique, footwork, body & leg action, partnering skills and much more, then a Medal Course is for you.

Our Bronze Level Medal/Technique group adult dance classes are run over a 10 week course. The higher level Medals such as Silver may be increased to 15 weeks or more depending on the progress of the group.

Anyone who has attended Social Beginners Level 1 or above is welcome to join our Bronze Classes. Booking in advance is essential to secure your place. At the end of the course you have the option to take the medal exam and we usually coordinate a medals day at the studio and all are welcome to attend to enjoy the performances. However, many students chose to attend our medal courses just to improve their technique, musicality, body movement, hip & leg action and partnering skills.

Medal & Technique Dance Classes are a natural progression to follow on from our Social Latin & Ballroom Classes and a great opportunity for all our Social Dancers to work on technique, correct footwork, leg and body action and improve partnering skills and enjoyment on the dance floor.

    What Our Clients Are Saying

"Humphrey's is the perfect place to start dancing.  After years of thinking about dancing one day I finally did it and I picked the perfect place!  Humphrey's staff are all so helpful and direct myself, my partner and his sister into the perfect beginners class where they took us through the steps nice and slow.  After the first session we were all hooked!"
